Pro Reports Enhancement

When selecting Sites and choosing a Tag then clicking back on Sites, have it checked those sites from the chosen Tag. I don’t always trust that the tabs are correct and this would provide a way to double check what’s checked.

Updraft - check for successful retention, not just one latest backup

I would like a monitor or test that tells me if the retention is working and not simply what date the last successful backup was. Before I do any bulk updates I want to make sure backups are happening. The only thing I have on the main sites list is the date of the last backup. This is nice but doesn’t tell me if my retention settings are working. For example, if I have retention such as saving 2 weeks of daily backups, I want to know if there are 14 daily backups successful or not. If there was one backup yesterday but then a gap of 8 missing backups, I want to know this is happening. I want to see at least 3 or more successful daily backups before I bulk update, not just that there is one single latest one. The only way I see to help with this is if the Updraft plugin verifies retention settings against all the saved backups logged. This way I can get at least a warning that the backup doesn’t appear complete. Even a small marker or counter showing how many daily backups are seen, for example “Latest Backup m/d/y [5]” where the 5 is just a count of consecutive days based on retention. If I had incremental backups every 4 hours, then it would be consecutive 4 hours backups. All I want to know is if “create backup every XX time” is working by counting or checking if that is happening and if there are breaks or missing recent backups. Ultimately I will not bulk update websites unless I know backup retention is happening more than just seeing there is one recent backup on the sites table listing. I am checking every site one by one to at least make sure I have many days of successful backups first and that my retention appears to be happening properly. This is a long process that gets old but it’s important to stay safe. It is not uncommon to have at least one website with a odd backup issue almost every time I go to bulk update. Or I find gaps in the expected retention. Another bug I’ll find is when backup zips get stuck and the backup size becomes large, many gigs or 10s of gigs I’ve seen. I can only verify this by opening the sites one by one and looking at the backup settings to see the total size. For me, I send all backups to S3 and don’t save them locally so my total backup size is typically less than 10MB which is just the size of log files really. Just today I went to bulk update and found one site with over 1.1GB and another over 6GB of stuck or corrupt or files that didn’t finish processing to S3. I need to know about these before I do bulk updates. Hopefully the Updraft plugin could be improved to give me more warnings if things don’t look right. Which I’m thinking is just a matter of the plugin checking the recorded backups against retention settings. And giving me total backup size for the heck of it.

xcloud Integration

Hi, I have a fairly big feature request: MainWP integration with xCloud. What do I mean by integration? Automatically add new WordPress sites created in xCloud to MainWP. Show xCloud backup information and backup status directly inside MainWP. Share relevant site data between xCloud and MainWP, so the two platforms stay synchronized. Why would this be useful? xCloud is excellent for server and hosting management, but its WordPress management features are still far behind what MainWP offers today. A native integration between the two platforms could create a much more powerful ecosystem: xCloud for infrastructure and hosting management, MainWP for WordPress management. I think this would be extremely useful for agencies managing many WordPress websites.

Reconnect All sites from Dashboard

Currently if multiple sites are disconnected you need to change to the Sites page and use a Bulk Action to reconnect all. If you are on the dashboard you can only reconnect one at a time. It would be nice to add an option to the Dashboard Widget to have an option to Reconnect All Disconnected Sites.

White Label > Support Form > Screenshot

I really like the Feature Support Form in the Whitel Label Plugin. A great addition would be a “File Upload” Field for the client to be able to attach sc reenshots of his problem.

Vulnerability Checker: Bulk actions

Currently the vulnerability checker requires us to go through all entries and click either on “ignore“ or “ignore globally“ and wait for the request to finish. Ideally we’d have a bulk-option, where we can select multiple entries and then select an action for all of them. This makes it especially easier, for false positives like “Division by zero“ in c-libraries which often matches for the Divi theme.

Ignore Updates for Time

Alongside the existing options to ignore updates globally and/or for a specific version having the ability to ignore updates for an amount of time, or until a given date/time, would be nice. The use-case is related to more complex polygons, such as Woo or PM Pro, wanting to wait an amount of time before updating. I like to do this just to be sure everything is okay for these sorts of plugins, not just on local sites, but regarding how there’s an increasing amount of supply-chain issues driven in part by AI I like waiting and not being on the bleeding edge. I can just leave the updates un-updated, but being able to use the existing ignoring feature for this would be better.

Allow manually marking sites as Production or Staging

It would be very useful to have the ability to manually define whether a site is a Production or Staging site in MainWP. Currently, the MainWP Staging extension creates a “Staging Sites” tag, and sites can be manually added to that tag. However, this does not affect the Production / Staging filter in the Updates section. A site manually added to the Staging Sites tag still does not appear when selecting Staging from the Updates page dropdown. I manage several staging sites that are not created through WP Staging or another staging integration, so MainWP cannot automatically detect them as staging environments. It would be helpful to have a setting in each site's configuration, for example: Site type Production Staging Automatic detection could remain the default, while this setting could allow users to manually override or define the site type when needed. The manually selected type should then be respected throughout MainWP, particularly by the Production / Staging filters on the Updates page. This would make the Production/Staging functionality useful for staging environments regardless of how they were created.

Just a small suggestion, is it possible to make the save button always show on screen or have one at the top also. I have a lot of sites and content and to save always requires a fair amount of scrolling. Thanks

MCP Server AI Abilities

I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe is currently missing from the MainWP MCP server, but is quite important in practical use. At the moment, there is no ability for an AI agent to perform a backup of a site before executing updates (such as plugin or theme updates). From a workflow and risk management perspective, this is a critical step — and ideally, it should be something we can instruct the AI to handle automatically before making any changes. In our case, we use WPvivid across all client sites. We’ve found it to be extremely reliable, especially for full backups and migrations. Previously we used UpdraftPlus, but have since standardized on WPvivid due to its consistency and performance. Because of the current limitation, we still need to manually log into sites (or the dashboard) to trigger backups before allowing any updates. This reduces the usefulness of MCP in real-world scenarios, as it breaks the automation flow. It would be incredibly valuable if MCP could: Trigger a backup before updates (as part of an automated workflow), or At minimum, allow the AI agent to execute a backup via the installed backup plugin (e.g., WPvivid) on the connected child site or from the wpvivid plugin installed and linked to mainwp. Even a basic integration or hook into existing backup plugins would significantly improve the safety and usability of MCP. Are there any plans to introduce this kind of backup capability? I believe it would make the MCP server much more powerful and practical for day-to-day use. Thanks for all the work you’re putting into MainWP — really looking forward to seeing how MCP evolves.

Johan

Custom Post Types in Recent Posts Widget

I need to see Custom Post Types in the Dashboard Recent Posts Widget. This was the main reason I went Pro, only to find out there was no such feature. Not even with additional extensions. This is the 4th post about this and still not action?

CPT's in the Dashboard Recent Posts Widget

I build website with mainly custom post types. I never use regular posts. After I installed the Custom Posts extension, created the custom post on both the main MainWP as the client MainWP website, the Recent Posts Widget still remains empty, eventhough I have multiple custom posts on several websites. In MainWP > Posts under "All post types", the custom post type is visible, which indicates that it's properly configured. The dev team has confirmed that the Recent Posts and Recent Pages widgets do not support CPTs. The support team advised to make a suggestion about this on the feedback site. That way, others can vote for it, letting us know which features our users want the most. So please … fellow developers … let me hear your voice in order to add support for CPT’s in the Recent Post Widget. Thanks in advance !!!

Auto-update Translations when updating WordPress and plugins

After updating Plugins & Themes & WordPress core, there are often Translations which then show up afterwards needing an update. It'd be great if MainWP could auto-update the Translations immediately after updating the plugin or theme or core, part of the update process.

Notification bar / Message in WordPress dashboard

Hi all,Probably easy feature to implement, because footer text, and branding already exists, but I think having a notification banner (custom message), at the very top of Wordpress dashboard for other admins, would be great feature. This could be a great and easy way to communicate and warn other admins about specific path or action that you took, for example why specific plugin is disabled, this plugin release is unsafe, or why this section is disabled etc.You may not be the only admin in WordPress, so having this warning banner at the very top, will help you do your job better, without anyone messing things up.Please Vote!

Lighthouse - avg scores over time

Is it possible to get an average of lighthouse scores over time for client reports?Lighthouse scores can vary from one check to the next so it would be nice to take an average. Otherwise, 1 outlying low/high score can be misleading and not representative of the website's avg score.GTmetrix, for example, does this if you create a website monitor. It checks every X hours/days/etc. and then reports an average in a weekly email.Either a fixed X days (e.g. 7 days) average or the ability for us to control how many days/weeks/months to average would be helpful. This average should be available as a token for client reports and possibly also used in the dashboard screens instead of showing the most recent scan.

See which Code Snippets apply to a Child Site at a glance

It currently is difficult when managing many Code Snippets in MainWP to see what ones apply to any given Child Site. Currently it requires loading up every Code Snippet one by one and checking that way. I’d love to see a tab or something where I could do a quick lookup of Code Snippets by the Child Site, so that if I wanted to easily see what Code Snippets are applicable to Website #30, I can do so without needing to access dozens of Code Snippets individually.

Cost tracker duplication

A little improvement that would be really practicle in some cases, would be the option to duplicate a cost. This would prevent to redo all the cost parameters for a an identical category and just change the things that are different (client/price/…). That would be saving time !

Add internal link from "Install plugins" to the Favorites add-on (if installed)

On this page: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=PluginsInstall under the tab “Install from Favorites” There should be a link similar to: "You can manage your favorite plugins [here](/wp-admin/admin.php?page=Extensions-Mainwp-Favorites-Extension)" I can't tell you how many times I've struggled to remember or find where that list of favorites is maintained while I’m at that first URL. Please make some proper activate/deactivate switches.

I'm sure if you enable or disable addons every day, this is not an issue. But when only using this every six months, I'm always confused and find it hard to see whether an addon is enabled or disabled. The current on/off switch makes no sense. Please make it more clear if an addon is active or not active. Thank you. Kind regards, Chilles.

IP / Server added to Sites

We have numerous hosting servers and lots of websites. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to list the IP of the server in the Sites list. I see this is already stored in the database table so adding it should be trivial. For bonus points: I’ve now written and deleted what I wanted to write here 4 times. I have something bigger in mind now. Short term, have the ability to define name & IPs for server instances and then display the server name in the Sites list.

Add “Days Since Last Update” Column to Abandoned Plugins View

Hello, It would be very helpful to have a “Days Since Last Update” column in the Abandoned Plugins view — ideally with the ability to sort by that value. This would make it easier to identify which outdated plugins might require attention first. If this isn't feasible as a built-in feature, any guidance on adding it via a snippet or hook would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued great work! Best regards, Kevin
