I would recommend adding support and compatibility for MainWP in a wordpress multisite environment. And it would add greater purpose without having to utilise a second domain, or using it in a production environment.
MainWP has already been reportedly used in a WordPress Multisite environments before without issues - We just don't "support" meaning give support or developer features for the multisite environment. MainWP doesn't need to be in a "Production" environment & is also not recommended to be used in a production environment. It's safer to at least use a subdomain for a MainWP Installation if there isn't a domain free for use.
We do not plan to develop or support MainWP for Multisite Environments.
