Feature Requests for MainWP & Multisite Integration

Core Requests (Dashboard/Child)

MainWP would greatly improve its ability to manage WordPress Multisite networks efficiently. Currently, it works well for single-site WordPress installations, but lacks granular control over subsites in a multisite setup.

  • ✅MainWP treats a WordPress Multisite installation as a single entity, meaning individual subsites cannot be managed separately.

  • ✅Lack of Per-Subsite Plugin & Theme Control

    MainWP does not allow you to activate/deactivate plugins or themes per subsite.
    It treats plugins and themes as global for the entire multisite installation

  • ✅User Management is Limited
    MainWP does not provide a way to add, remove, or sync users across subsites.

    There is no direct role synchronization between the main site and subsites.

  • ✅Also look into backups please

  • ✅Cache Control is Not Available Per Subsite

    Cache cannot be cleared for specific subsites within the MainWP dashboard.

  • ✅Boilerplate Setup for New Subsites

    Issue: No built-in way to create a standardised template for new sites (default plugins, settings, pages, etc.).

  • ✅The Code Snippets plugin does not have per-subsite execution in Multisite mode. WooCommerce

  • ✅ Make other MainWP add-ons compatible with network sites

    Another idea to optimize multisite support:

    MainWP could show in an additional column if a multisite needs a network upgrade. Including a button to start the upgrade with a progress bar to show the updated sites.

    integration with WordPress Multisite (WPMU) is limited, as it primarily focuses on managing separate WordPress installations rather than handling subsites within a multisite network.
